The Ten Leopards

Everyone knows that there is nothing a leopard loves more than his spots. But what happens when he sneezes them all off? Told in sweet, rhyming verse, this imaginative retelling of the healing of the ten lepers puts a fresh spin on a Bible favorite.

The Rich Camel

Available now for pre-order

Coming out on 11 April 2023.

Camelot is a Camel with quite a ‘flair for fashion,’ and he loves his fancy clothes. But when Jesus challenges him to give them up in order to follow him, can he do it? He loves Jesus and wants to go, but “who will I be without them?” he wonders. This fun and imaginative retelling of “The Rich Young Man” puts a fresh spin on the bible favorite.

Cinderella for a ball

Was dressed in silk and lace.

Cinderella took a fall

Flat upon her face.

Cinderella had a coach

For travelling down the road

She stumbled on the step and turned

The footman to a toad.

Cinderella at the palace

Tripped upon the stair.

The handsome Prince to comfort her

Found for her a chair.

Cinderella watched teh Prince

Longing on her face.

How was she to dance with him

Without complete disgrace?

Cinderella took a chance

Stepping with great care

Skipping and turening on her toes

She danced with great flair.

Cinderella had to run

In her stocking feet.

She left behind those killer shoes

Abandoned beneath her seat.

This was a fun poem to write. I took a well known story and found what fun twists were inspired by finding rhymes. This might be a fun exercise for kids. Have them start with a phrase and then find a ryhmn and see how it changes the story.
